Each student will receive a DOL book or printout. Each unit begins with a pre-test of ten (10) questions. Students that receive a score of 100% do not need to take the post-test which is scheduled after four (4) weeks of instruction. The DOL quiz counts for 20% of the student's grade.
Each day that there is a DOL assignment for bell work, the student is expected to have his/her book out and start making corrections using proofreading marks. The sentences do not necessarily need to be written on the spaces provided unless the student desires extra practice. The grammar and spelling assignments generally coordinate and enhance the understanding of the DOL in grammar mechanics. The lesson is corrected in various ways. The student will receive completion points for the DOL book work.
